Summary

  • Dynamically discover I²C EEPROM devices, adapter, address, driver, and capacity
  • Add read-only EEPROM validation by default
  • Add opt-in write/read/restore integrity validation for approved ranges
  • Dynamically select the EEPROM adapter for scans
  • Keep legacy i2c-msm-test optional
  • Recover i2c-tools on Debian, Ubuntu, and CentOS
  • Keep Yocto image-managed and skip cleanly when tools are absent
  • Document CLI options, CI defaults, safety requirements, and examples

No SoC-specific bus, address, capacity, or EEPROM geometry is hardcoded
